What’s new in WebWell
Every release, newest first. WebWell is free and open source, with an optional paid upgrade; the full history is on GitHub.
Version 1.9.1
Coming soon- Ask WebWell now helps with WebWell itself. Ask it how to block a website, start a focus session, turn on tracking or unlock Plus, and it answers with the real steps and button names. It still answers questions about your own stats too.
- Accent colours you can see. Picking an accent in Customise (a Plus feature) now recolours the Focus button, the music play button, the focus line, the task and garden icons and the selected options, so the change is clear straight away.
Version 1.9.0
Latest- WebWell Plus, an optional upgrade. Block schedules, strict focus mode with an emergency exit, intent check, earn your break, weekly and monthly reports, unlimited history with CSV export and print to PDF, focus presets, a sound mixer, extra themes, a focus garden with streaks, and an AI weekly coach that uses your own Google AI key. It is $10 once, with no subscription. Everything that was free before is still free.
- Keys are checked offline. A Plus key is verified inside the extension. Nothing is sent anywhere to unlock it.
Version 1.8.3
- Save the page you’re on. A new bookmark button in the popup adds the current page to the dock on your new tab. Click it again to remove it. It shows up in any new tab that’s already open.
- Music keeps going. When a saved song ends, the next one starts on its own. It works across SoundCloud and Spotify, and goes back to the top after the last song.
Version 1.8.2
- One line at install. Chrome now shows only “Change the page you see when you open a new tab”. Screen-time tracking, alerts, access for site blocking, music services and the AI chat are each asked for only when you switch them on.
- Your privacy, your choice. A new step in the welcome tour lets you decide whether WebWell may count your time, with plain words about what you lose if you leave it off.
- Watching a show no longer stops the clock. A tab that is playing sound counts as active, even when you aren’t touching the mouse or keyboard.
- Clearer permissions. The website, privacy policy and store page explain each permission and why it is needed.
Version 1.8.0 and earlier
